2 days Takayama & 2 Days in Tokyo

Wow

rain

Again the weather has been magnificent in Takayama. Arriving at our hotel our jaws dropped to find it was a 5 start hotel hehe.. Talk about service and talk about classy LOL... The front doors were gold in colour and had jap chicks greeting you and offering to carry your luggage.. haha.. Even the elevator doors were shining in bright gold..
Our room was amazing with double sink and a full baths! Hard to come by in Japan..

The spa wing was amazing and crazy!! there are 2 floors of spas in the hotel which both over look the mountains and the city of Takayama. They had both indoor and outdoor baths.
The city itself is small and was easily covered in less than half a day.. They have amazing wood carvings here that costs were bigger then our entire wallets for our trip here. The olden style houses are preserved here and looked amazing.
It was peaceful and country style living here which gave us a good break from the city rush and tiring walks and rides of Osaka and Kyoto.

Its our 3rd in Tokyo now and about to head out to do some shopping as the weather is cloudy and raining and windy..

Our 1st night in Tokyo:
We were AMAZED by the amount of PPL in just 1 station (Shinjuku) we arrived here just before peak hour and it was like shoulder to shoulder and cheek to cheek. Cant imagine what its like in peak hour!!! Dont worry im definately gonna go have a look :) hehe i wanna see if ppl are pushed and shoved into the trains like sardines as i saw in the Youtube clips LOL...

We walked around the west side of Shinjuku for food and managed to find an amazing restuarant that had a good variety of selections. Most important it had detailed pictures and yet againan English menu to top it off :)
We were so stuffed we walked it off in the Electric town on the west side and was amazed again by the LIGHTS on display in the streets of Shinjuku. Not only that but the amount of PPL around on a Thursday night!!!

Our 2nd day in Tokyo:
We waited after peak hour before catching any trains hehe.. as we didnt want to loose our patience as yet hehe.. Although i still wanna get a glimpse of peak hour and Monday is the day i will go find out. Even on off peak it was PACKED!!!!
The train systems here are sooo amazing. They are right on the DOT............. they arrive on time and leave on time....
So far there hasnt been a train that we caught that has been late.
Talk about the complexity of the train systems!!! haha luckily for colour coded and digital displays that changes from jap to english and also the annoucement chick talks Jap then in English hehe..
here is just Tokyo rail map:

http://www.tokyometro.jp/rosen/rosenzu/pdf/rosen_eng.pdf

Thats ONLY Tokyo metro.....

We went to 2 of the largest department stores in Ikebukuro which are opposite each other and its again MASSIVE. Apparently its one of the biggest again.. Its all BRAND NAME!!!!!!! Lay picked up a few handbags that looks cheap and nasty but they were priced at over $1k AUD!!!!!!!!!!!! we havent even heard of the brand!!!!
They had specialty floors as well that were were afraid to walk in LOL... so we ended up heading down stairs to the food basement floors....

ITS CRAZY!!!! talk about a food market in a shopping center!!! it was HUGE!!! it covered two basement floors and prob take about 1hour just to quickly walk around but if you were like Lay.. She stopped at alot of food stores that had SAMPLES!!!! tasting samples... She ate enough that she got almost FULL LOL....

We also made a half day trip to Hakone where we went to the mountain onsen. It was a little time consuming to get to as we caught a bullet train then a local train and then a bus hehe..
But looking from the outside it looked pretty crap.. But INSIDE we were once again AMAZED!!!
The baths on the men side had about 8 different baths and where the female had about 10 baths.
The outdoor baths were the best as the were nestled in the mountains and the water from the top would fall into the below bath and so on.. it was so tropical and so peaceful.. Bamboo trees made everything look so heavenly.

Lay didnt want to leave!!! they had saunas , massage chairs, bean bags, smoking lounges for you to rest after the baths. They even had place to sleep and rooms where you can just lay down and talk. They had about 16 small restuarants within the complex.. It was great!!!! althou we didnt eat here we had to get back to our area before it hit Peak hour hehehe..

Oh yeah we had some pork buns and they are HUGE.. it was atleast the size of a grepfruit .. I had the SHARK FIN BUN!!!! hahaha WTF... LOL

Anyways we are off to do some shopping in the rain.

Ohayō gozaimasu from Tokyo (Shinjuku)

Take care

Love

Hiroshima & Kyoto

Hiroshima in 1 day and Kyoto in 2 days

Once again we manage to get time to sit at a comp and give you guys an update on whats been happening.

We were in Hiroshima 2 days ago where we visted the famous floating Tori. Apparently its one of the most photographed picture.... Their specialty in Hiroshima is Oysters. You can smell them cooking it from a mile away as they BBQ the oysters and everyone is lining up for it hehe... yeah coulnt help ourselves here and ordered half a dozen.. They are pretty BIG oysters too hehe.. This is prob one of the best meals we had since being in Japan.
We also visted the A Bomb site (Atomic Bomb). Its quite sad visiting such a place where hundreds of thousands had died from 1 BOMB which was only 3 meters in size. Anyways as our journey continues we are now at Kyoto.

Kyoto - Here we hired 2 bikes to get around as it is more convenient then the buses or subways.. The first day we explored half of Kyoto as most of the time we got lost hehehe... but managed to visit a temple and a palace.
They had one of the largest festivals on today which we went to. We also visted a geisha town and what do you know Lay spotted a Geisha and was ALL EXCITED hehe .. its pretty rare to see a Geisha in this time of day..

We went to their famous food market and it was fascinating to see what they had to offer. They even had fresh seafood on a stick haha... no thanks... haha...
The Japanese manage to pickle every vegetable there is under the sun cause they even had pickled pumpkin!!!! WTF LOL.... TASTY thou :)

We will be heading out to Takayama (Country side of Japan) tomorrow for 2 days before heading to Tokyo.

Oh yeah we finally ate sushi & sashimi!! wooohoooo..

We miss you all and hope you guys are having just as much FUN as we are hehehehehehe :)

OSAKA ー Continued

Aquarium & Osaka Castle

Hello all again from Osaka :)

Wooooowwwwww its so great to be on HOLIDAYS :)
Wish you guys can all be here. Its an amazing place. Dotombori is where we are staying which is in the Namba district. You think Kings Cross has alot of lights.. This place will shine all over the cross hehe.. Night life here is so ALIVE where as the morning streets are so quite. We had breakfast in a strange place that servered hamburger meat and rice hehe.. with chilli sauce hehe

For dinner we had Yakatori's which are skewers. We sat right in front of the guy cooking so we can see what others order hehehe and just point to the guy and said "1” or use sign language.. We had quail eggs wrapped with bacon, chicken liver and heart, duck meat, local chicken, meatballs and frogs.. haha joking bout the frogs Sommy.

Still we havent had sashimi as dont think we are still in the right place for it.

We went to one of the worlds largest aquarium..they had a whale shark in the tank i think and the fishes were abnormal LOL...
We also went to the Osaka castle which was amazing and extremely tiring as they had steep stone stairs. We cheated and took the elevator up hehe and took the stairs down hehe..

Today it has been raining so the weather is not so great for sight seeing but that didnt stop us :)
We went west of Osaka and headed for Hemiji where we visited another castle. There was no cheating in this castle as they only had STEEEEEPPPP stairs going up and with no lighting in th place made things just as hard.
By the time we got to the top we were exhausted... but the view was amazing. A castle in the middle of a city..

Tomorrow we are heading to Hiroshima to go visit the A BOMB site.. From here we are not sure if they have any internet there so we will post when we get the chance again.

Good night all from Dotonbori Osaka.

Love
Tiger/Lay

OSAKA

Lots of walking & Eating

25 °C

Hi All,

We have finally explored OSAKA highlights and attractions.
Our first day was sooooo tiring as we got off the flights with very little sleep as the ON DEMAND MOVIES and TV shows got me going for 8 hours non-stop. While Lay was sleeping most of the time hehehe..

On the 2nd flight which is Malaysia to Osaka i slept most of the way as Lay was entering in the world of ON DEMAND MOVIES and TV SHOWS hehehe..

With little sleep we manage to get to the train station and got our JR rail pass and our first train trip to OSAKA. The seats on the trains are impressive (the seats rotate around AUTOMATICALLY - got me excited LOL). They have vending machines and toilets as well hehehe.. We must have bought over 10 different drinks in 1 day cause of the excitement VENDING MACHINES.. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE and on EVERY CORNER LOL... I had my 1st HOT COFFEE in a can LOL.. WTF LOL hahaha.. They even got hot pumpkin soup in a can which Lay is gonna try tomorrow.

We went to Spa World yesterday and they had over 10 different spas for Males and Females which are seperated on different floors so no peaky peaky hehe...
The towels are so SMALL i mean SO SMALL it barely covered my privates LOL.. Being in a room of all men it was hard not to look LOL... after a certain point i couldnt be stuffed and just walked around butt naked LOL... Lay was the same too LOL... Lay enjoyed so much that she nearly fell asleep in side one of the spas (They are like 40 or more degrees!!! HOT!!!) Some spas overlooked the moon and stars which was Lays fav.

We did an enourmous amount of walking.. we never walked sooo much in 1 day.. We went through an arcade that never ended.. i mean never ended.. we had to turn back as lay was whinging and chuck a fit and took off her shoes in the middle of the arcade and sat down LOL... so funny.. ppl giving us the dirty looks LOL so funny.. hahaha

Anyways there is more we want to tell but we save them for when we get back.

Unfortunately we can not upload photos here as it is restricted. (Damn)....

Good night all and we will update this as we go :) We are off to Nara tomoro to explore. Then we will head off to Hiroshima changing Hotels the next day.

Tiger & Lay..
